Welcome

Beginning writers, those who have not yet published or those who have no intention of publishing to professional magazines but would like to share their writings are encouraged to publish on this site. This is a free forum to get your writing seen. We are unpublished also. We are not looking to critique your writing. We are not in the editing business, so most works published here will be as we receive them. Okay - maybe a tad editing, but that's it. There will be a comments link for each work for anyone who wishes to comment on what they have read.

"Flames In The Wind" - by Glendis Thomason

Flames In The Wind

Have you ever noticed a match when struck?
From nothing comes the intense raging light
Strong enough to brighten the darkest corner
Settling finally to a warm, steady glow.
This was our love.

Have you ever noticed a flame in the wind?
It flickers & dims, the warmth soon taken.
And yet it still burns, its fate tied to the wind..
Should the flame be so weak or the wind so strong
It dies in that which gave it birth.
This, too, was our love.

"Moments" - by Francis Lynn

Moments

It wasn't the brandy
Or the soft music of a darkened room
That brought out moment on.
We've each had these before, alone & together.

And thoughts of love or tender touches
Meant to bring our passions into play
Belonged to yesterday's tide.
A time gone out to sea.

Embraced together, crying, for ourselves,
Each other, for things that were, or should have been.
This was our time, this was our moment.
Together, last night.

In our tomorrows
No darkest room, no sweetest drink,
No softest sound or love that we may yet to know
Will ever be so intimate, so cherished
As when our souls ran down our cheeks.
